Bible Verses about the Return of Jesus

The Bible is filled with verses about the return of Jesus, leading many believers to ask themselves: "Am I ready for Jesus' return?" It's important to prepare for the day when Christ will come again.

The following Bible verses about the return of Jesus will provide answers to these questions: When will Jesus return? What can we expect from his arrival? And how can we prepare ourselves accordingly?

Jesus clearly states that no one will know the exact time of his return (Matthew 24:36). Therefore we should remain in a state of anticipation and readiness (Matthew 24:44).

God, the Father, has given Jesus authority to judge all of the nations of the earth (Daniel 7:13). Jesus will reward each person for what they have done. The godly will inherit eternal life, and will rule with Christ forever. The wicked will be cast into the lake of fire, and will receive condemnation for their lack of faith.

The Bible instructs us to stay true to our faith even when times get tough and trials arise. "But rejoice insofar as you share Christ's sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed" (1 Peter 4:13).

We should also strive to remain faithful in our daily lives. This means living according to God's Word and being obedient to Him (1 John 2:17) especially when the prevailing culture abandons its faith in God. Additionally, we should be mindful of how we treat others, especially those who have be marginalized in society (Matthew 25:31-46). We should love others with the same love we have received from Christ (1 John 4:7-8).

Finally, it is important that believers remain vigilant in their prayer life. We should maintain a constant dialogue with God as he draws us deeper into relationship with Himself (James 4:8).

By taking the time to study these Bible verses about the return of Jesus, we can gain a better understanding of what His second coming will look like—and become prepared for it.

Bible Verses about the Return of Jesus

Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming. But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into. Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

John 14:1-3

Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.

Acts 3:19-21

Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus, whom heaven must receive until the time for restoring all the things about which God spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets long ago.

Romans 8:22-23

But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.
